The late Sankar Basu was not just a friend of the family for over 4 decades, but was like an elder brother to me and my wife and like a wonderful 'uncle' to our two daughters since they were born. He was a wise and a highly educated person, who was there for advice whenever needed. His sense of humour, compassion and wisdom were the most endearing features of his character. We are poorer for his passing. RIP
